walking for fresh air, fitness and fun

what we do...

We walk between 5 and 14 miles most weekends, with a stop for either a pub lunch or a picnic on the majority of rambles. In the summer months there are shorter evening rambles. We also run two long weekend walking breaks each year and most years have a long distance walk. We hold several social activities during the year.

where we go...

In and around Oxfordshire including the Cotswolds, the Ridgeway, the Chilterns, and by the River Thames. We have walked long-distance paths including the Cotswold Way, the Ridgeway Path, the Oxfordshire Way, the Seven Shires Way, the perimeter of Oxfordshire and the Green Belt Way. Recent weekend breaks have been held in Worcestershire, the Cotswolds, the Isle of Wight, Devon and Exmoor.

car sharing

The Club actively promotes car-sharing, which is why the meeting point for most of our walks is at one of the Oxford Park and Ride terminals: these are accessible to most people, either by local transport or by car. Ramblers wishing to go to the start point of a walk (perhaps because they live fairly near to it) therefore need to contact the leader in advance to be given precise details.
